I'll start with...Lindiana. Really love the verse.

great post;

thanks JAMES 1985:

sums up my whole feeling about all PAUl 86-89 sound:

I wish I were the producer ( IE....let's not get stuck in this 80's mentality...let's do "PAUL" !!!!)

Unfortunately, this type of masterpiece is muddled by Paul trying too hard to be relevant, compete with " the sound of the day" stuff.

( see Back to the egg)

I recognize how wonderful this tune is....but can we imagine how good this tune would fare with, say the RAM -BOR -75 core? The production would rule! INSTEAD....!!!

I wish this would have accompanied the albums it was left off, with a nod to his past.

= Great song with mediocre backing. Paul trying too hard to please the sound of the day = B -

So true, so true...this era of Macca's music can be really hard to listen to despite the good songwriting. Good songs are easily dismissable simply because the production is so weak and dated. It would be nice if he would take the best of them and rerecord them.

I always loved "I Love This House" - which eventually saw light as an Oobu Joobu b-side -- but was recorded in 1985- shows you can be relevant and even dated sound-wise and still produce a kick-ass song - would have made a better b-side to Spies than My Carnival (which I love)

Not unreleased, but certainly out of print at the moment. Great middle eight. And it sounds more mid/late 80s than when it was actually recorded:

Do you mean the "chorus"?

Yes. The middle eight is easily the best part of the song!
