My girlfriend (who I dragged along) and I were talking after the show. She doesn't know much Wings beyond BOTR, Jet and LALD (and was bored by the acoustic set. When I told her there was still an hour to go you should've seen the look I got :-D ). We were talking about Paul's general stage patter and I tried to defend him by saying that it was "goofily charming".

Her response: "you can't be goofily charming with a huge mullet and satin pants".

I had no answer to that.

first of all...hilarious.

second...you know, brother...I've had a day or so to think on that for a retort...and truthfully...I have nada, nothing...zippo and zero.

I fully expect my better half to say something similar. since she always remarks...during a crime movie, or a thriller...something so out of the ordinary...like...don't you think that blouse looks ridiculous on her?!?!? what???

but at least I can start preparing for it now. thanks for the heads up.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

James,

Your better half needs to put herself in the year Rockshow was done - 1976. They wore mullets and satin pants.

Wait a second, satin pants are OUT? Since the 70's? Mr h buys me a pair every year for Christmas. I've been wearing them faithfully ever since. I feel like such a fool.

And he told me my mullet looked awesome. Give me my clippers. I'm doing away with this

chris wrote:should we be concerned? amazon touts this blu ray release as being in 5.1 stereo. i completely expect this sound to be phenomenal...not just okay. i was really excited about getting this on blu ray. maybe i'll wait til i hear some audio reviews before i go out and do the deed.

I think it was the theaters that were causing the audio issues. They should have ran an equipment test during off hours to look for potential problems. I thought this was standard procedure when they receive new movies. I don't think the blu-ray or DVD releases will have bad audio mixes because it's too important of a release to have any screwups. I bet the audio mix was perfect when Paul screened it.
