Good call on Flowers in the Window...hmm, even the title seems familiar.

I'm assuming you guys know that Flowers In The Window was co-written by Paul?

Anyway, I've often thought that Billy Joel wrote quite a few songs that sounded a lot like they could have been by Paul- My Life, Just The Way You Are, Honesty etc.

He did indeed!

I don't think it was a massive contribution though, I remember seeing either Paul, or probably more likely Fran Healey, talking about it, saying that they had this song that was nearly finished, but they were a bit stuck on a few parts, so they asked Paul for his advice and he suggested how they could fix the parts they were stuck on.

Anyone remember Wax (back in the 80's). Andrew Gold and Graham Gouldman...I always thought both their albums sounded very much like Macca in places.

Someone else mentioned Emitt Rhodes earlier. I discovered his music in the 1980's and found him to be Macca-like. Emitt wrote, sang, and played all the instruments on his songs (a-la McCartney's first solo album). This song is one that sounds alot like Paul (style and somewhat the vocal).

don't mean to be blasphemous here...but a song we all know...and I may even sort of...okay, like a lot...is the bee gees lonely days. abbey road (because) type harmonies, george martin type orchestration, and lennon type screaming vocals to close it out.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

I was unaware Paul had co-written Flowers in the Window. It explains a lot.

Another one is At My Most Beautiful by R.E.M. Despite their saying it's a Beach Boys homage
