I've been buying the double-disc editions, so I hope these come out for everything. I guess it's got to go a little faster than it as at some point – maybe at some stage they'll stop doing the super-deluxe editions?

Anyway, my guess is that b-sides and some 'known' unreleased stuff is coming out on the double discs (like Rode All Night, the Alternative MacII stuff), and there will be an anthology-style project at some point with the stuff from the MPL vaults. (NB: my guess I basically what I want to happen! :-D )

Also, I think he should put Press to Play out as soon as possible. A lot of the sound of that album (esp Pretty Little Head and Talk More Talk, and the drums in general) is very now. Bat For Lashes' (UK artist Natasha Khan's stage name) new album sounds – intentionally or not – very Press To Play in a lot of places, for example. And it's such a carefully-produced album that I'd love to hear it remastered. And it's due a re-appraisal.

One more thing: is the McCartney Collection version of Venus and Mars (which I have) the same mix as the original? If it is, they need to remix V&M as well as remaster it, because that's the most badly mixed album ever.

A little puzzled here as well- I heard somewhere that Wings Over America/Rock Show movie is the next release -

I can see the logic - his first releases have all been things that desperately needed to be mastered properly OR that he was most proud of-
Ram and BOTR latter category
The 2 McCartney albums the former (especially for MIIs bonus tracks)

Since Rock Show has really never been properly released on DVD and since I am sure a good remix/remaster job could be done for WOA - that makes sense to me I guess

What would also make sense-
Wonder why a 30th anniversary Tug of War wasn't issued - like Ram, there'd be some great bonus material (Rainclouds on CD anyone?)

I'm guessing we'll get a 40th Anniversary Venus and Mars in 2015

The frustrating thing is CDs have been around 25-30 years and we still haven't had a decent CD release of London Town or Wild Life, and Back To the Egg and Speed of Sound aren't much better. Steve Hoffman did a nice gold disc of Red Rose Speedway

Listen about 29:00 into the interview-

"...the cassette demos, rehearsals, Paul has all of them"

Yeah, that makes me think (hope) we're going to get an Anthology (or two, or three...)

When I heard him say that about all the old demos, my first thought was "well where are they then? Why haven't we seen or heard all that much extra music on the re-releases that we do have?", so hopefully you're right, James about an anthology. I mean it makes sense considering everyone knows there's a LOT of stuff that's unreleased.

wasn't there a quasi-list at some point ???

if i 'member right...and, at my age, i don't always do...i believe there were listed a series of anthologies at the end of the run of all the remasters...quite a ways off, at this rate, if accurate
