It's not the new Yesterday, I don't think any song could replace Yesterday, not until just as many different artist have covered it the same way Yesterday has been covered!

My Valentine is a very very very good song though, easily one of McCartney's best!

My Valentine is a song I think could get covered by many artists. Definitely could be a new signature song for him this late in his career which would be really amazing.

Nope -not a new yesterday -don t think anything will ever reolace that song wich have a pace in many peoples collective mind.
My Valentine is - I think- one of Pauls best postbeatlesongs and a track that wouldn t have been out of place on a Beatles album. I f it been recorded during that perod we sure would have seen many coverversions. Don t think much will happen in that area rightnow but time will tell My Valentine has the word standard written all over.
Actually Dylas has managed to come up with some new standards in his latter days don t now anyone else

Its not unheard of -

New York, New York was released in 1981(!!!!) we tend to associate it so much with Sinatra that we think of it as a song he'd played for much longer.

For Dylan, "Make You Feel My Love" from 1997 has been covered by Billy Joel, Adele, etc.

I can see the same for My Valentine-- it really is an amazing song.
