I know for sure that Neil Young is a friend of Paul, so is David Gilmour. Clapton -don t really know think they had an argument concerning the tribute to George but they respect each other for sure. There are more for sure. Whenever our dear old Macca passes I am sure there will be a line of musicians who wants to arrange a tribute
Personally I find most of those tribute shows utterly disgusting and couldn t care less. I am sure there will be tributes now for poor Whitney with so called friends crying crocodile tears.

As far as Eric I would assume they consider each other as friends..nice touch getting him to contribute to the album

first, i will agree with 2. he has never really hung out with other musicians the way...well...other musicians always seemed to.

it always seemed to me that EC would have made an ideal playing partner with paul. EC was never much of a songwriter...or singer...two areas where paul excelled. guess it's too late for that now. or is it?

maybe this collaboration will kindle a musical spark. one can hope.

Paul has his clique of musician friends he hangs out with-

George's were pretty much the Wilburys and Eric Clapton.

John's was Harry Nillson and to some extent Elton John and David Bowie.

Ringo is friends w/everyone.

Paul's musician friends:
1. Neil Young - appearantly, Neil and his long-time wife were BFFs with Paul and Linda, all 4 of whom appreciated a good smoke of the doobie. That is why Neil inducted Paul to the R&RHOF- I guess they have a pretty close friendship.

2. David Gilmore -- has been turning up on Paul projects since GMRTBS-- Gilmore credits Paul with helping him reform Pink Floyd after Waters left.

3. Chrissie Hynde was close to Linda and hence Paul.

4. Elvis Costello has continually showed up at Paul events, despite being weary of him at first.

5. Pete Townsend -- has turned up on multiple Paul projects.

6. Phil Collins

7. Brian Wilson has cited Paul as being good to him over the years.

Neil Young on rhytmguitar.NO WAY MAN. He is the one who s gonna blast out babed wiresolos on all the tracks. H e is the king of noice -the chairman of the punks and grunge the king of everything. And I would vote for Yoko Ono as leadsinger - she and Paul might not be friends but they are businessassociates for sure. I d like to hear her version of My Valentine
