Ron Sexsmith - "Long Player,Late Bloomer"

This record is a must listen, it's the best album I've heard all year.

2011 album from the Canadian singer/songwriter. Produced by Bob Rock [Metallica, Bon Jovi and Michael Buble], Long Player Late Bloomer is Ron's 11th studio album and was recorded in Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver. The album features a star-studded cast of musicians, including guitarist Rusty Anderson [Paul McCartney], bassist Paul Bushnell [Elton John, No Doubt], keyboard player Jamie Edwards [Aimee Mann] and drummer Josh Freese [Devo, Nine Inch Nails]).
I go back so far... I'm in front of me!

a quick look at the only christmas music i got...

the cure live at bestival....
most of this i love: the band & r.s. hit it as perfect as ever...
parts i cringe: the band never falters, but rob...hmmm...how can one fudge the lyrics (drugs & booze ?!?) off songs at one point and nail 'em totally the next...
nice set, though...
still, i wish it had 'wrong number' on it...
great to have rog on keys, but, they definately need the second guitar for the proper sound, imho

Just listened to the remastered Highway 61 Revisited by the great Bob Dylan. Always loved it, but now I'm in love for another reason- it sounds brilliant remastered.

I just listened to some Boz Scaggs. Got to be in the mood and I guess I was. Good stuff.

rediscovering some of my old jazz faves,,,

miles davis bitches brew...with some seriously psychadelic trumpet

and john coltrane (probably my favorite jazz master)...with a love supreme.

in the process of ripping all (or most) of my cd's onto my cell phone. amazing, the variety in my collection.

and while we're at it, the foo fighters...the colour and the shape. always liked them. fighting foo like they know they should. they pretty much share the same formula that grohl and company used with nirvana. quiet verse, loud chorus. but it is a formula that works for them.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.
