Such a shame all those animals, including 18 bengal tigers, had to be killed. Why on earth does someone need so many rare animals. Zoo's don't. I never did like what zoos do to animals for the sake of us looking at them. We have hi-def now. That's close enough for me without the smell.

I don't get it. Only 3000 tigers left and this guy had 18 of them. Why?

Something else I don't understand, Mike, is this guy reportedly killed himself because he was $68,000 in debt...? The tigers, they said, were worth like $17,000 apiece and he had...18 of them? I'm no mathemetician, but that's $306,000. Methinks something else was troubling this poor bugger's soul besides finances. Such a shame, really. I wouldn't want to come face to face with a tiger, but they're beautiful creatures who don't deserve to vanish from the earth and it will be as much our loss as theirs if they do.

not to be too political: but this sad event is exactly the sort of thing that happens in a free society where deregulation theory takes too much hold

my wonder, beyond the horror of what happened, was...if all the authorities knew (and everyone apparently did know) that there were that many wild animals...why did they not have contingency plans ready...like tranq guns & darts, to at least have a more reasonable response than near total slaughter if something ever went wrong...

but, of course, the answer would probably lie in that very shady area of limited budgets and/or budget cuts
lift up your head...and remember what your life is !

just heartbreaking to read a story like this
its an example of how irresponsible humans are on this planet and how its taken for granted
deplete all natural resources, pollute the enviorment, fight amongst ourselves
greed, corruption, ridicule and other negitive traits that seem to be innate in so many gives me little hope for future generations
this senseless slaughter is carried out everyday in different parts of the world
we are losing our rainforests and killing off everything in site
polluting our home and killing off the animals wasn't enough
we've now moved into space and have littered there as well with countless pieces of space junk orbiting the earth
its all so disgusting
