I don't know how anyone can not think the Beatles aren't the best band It boggs my mind!!

well...in truth, they haven't made a single record....not counting 'free as a bird' and 'real love'....since 1968-9 ??

that's a great deal of generations growing up with all sorts of really good, even great musicians/bands doing some fantastic work....i'm sure there are some fogies who'll spit fire if we tried to tell 'em the beatles were better (or more groundbreaking) than elvis...or sinatra

and i have/had relatives from liverpool who were absolutely positive that mick 'n the boys were far better than the hometown lads

i think they're all nuts...but, then again, most days, i'm more likely to play a macca album then a beatle album...so what do i know, right ?

at least #2 wasn't, like...milli vanilli...

Yes I have heard that Mick and the Boys are better than OUR Boys. I beg to differ. Different music. My mom loved "Come Together" and her generation is Ella Fitzgerald and Sinatra. My dad liked "Mull of Kintyre" only because of the bagpipes. He was a bagpipe nut. My nephew who is a year old grew up on the that guitar hero game his father played and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is his fave.

But coming of age with The Beatles and staying with them through thick and thin and then idolizing Paul from 1964 to present and beyond, I still say The Beatles are the BEST BAND AROUND. But that is my personal opinion and I know lots will differ with me. That's fine. This is a free country, so far, and we are allowed to have a difference of opinion on anything. I will shut up. . . . for now.

G4B, I love your unbridled enthusiasm. I whole-heartedly agree with you. How could anyone hear the Fabs and not flip? Although, between you and me, I think Mr. H has flipped, but don't tell him I said that. After I heard the Beatles, I knew things were never gonna be the same. As for the Rolling Stones, any comparisons people make are laughable to me, they're nowhere near the Beatles, nowhere man.
