james, that's awesome. i'd love to hear what you think of it. you get to experience something most of us will not. seeing it in a theater with a group of fans. should be a completely different atmosphere. do tell, my friend, do tell...

Well, first of all, the film's great, and I don't want to spoil it for you all.

Seeing it in a cinema was wonderful for the sound and some of the unseen photos. There wasn't much in the way of atmosphere, but I got chatting to the lady next to us in the interval and she talked about the sixties and stuff, which was nice.

It's really long – including interval we were in there four hours – but it's worth it. He really captures the speed of Hamburg and the early mania years. There's lot of unseen stuff - including a shot of George and Paul together signing documents - it looks about 1974. But you get some stuff from Geroge's videocamera of the anthology sessions, which is cool.

Minor gripe is that it doesn't mention any music post-Bangladesh really, which is a shame. But you get a rounder appreciation of his life outside music, in film and his friends and F1.

It's wonderful, though, and always holds your attention. Look forward to chatting when you've all seen it!
