Very sad to hear this. Lived a very hard life.

She becomes a member of the the club of rock stars who dies at only 27 years of age.

lived a hard life?

pagh ! try telling that to any woman who has to live under some real hardships, like taliban rule.

she, for the most part, brought it all on herself and had more than enough chances to get straight

no sympathies, here, i'm afraid
at the end of the end it's the start of a journey to a much better place and this wasn't bad so a much better place would have to be need to be sad...

her album...was it just one?...yeah, i think so...sigh...was really good.

she sang really well. her songs were really well written. and she had the balls to do something no one else was doing. a sort of frank sinatra meets aretha.

but i cannot say it was any sort of surprise. she even sang about needing to, but not going to rehab.

must be quite an accomplishment to be a rock star and make it to age 28, huh?
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

She actually had two studio albums. Frank and Back To Black.

Either way, it's really sad. She had so much potential, and she threw it all away. Very similar to Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

I don't see people criticizing those artists. You may not like Amy's style of music, but you have to agree that she was genuinely talented, and gone way too soon.

She was on the lower-end of the 27-club talent scale.

That said -

We know SO MUCH MORE about drugs and overdosing - and there is so much better knowledge in the culture and among doctors (and less shame in seeking emergency treatment) - there is really no excuse for letting something like this happen.
