Tom Waits any one?

I have the album Raindogs which is great. Which album should I buy next??

"Raindogs" is my absolute fave, but it's followed closely by the album that came out just before it did..."Swordfishtrombones". I prefer the albums from "Swordfishtrombones" onward, but "Heart Attack & Vine" is a fine earlier effort, the double live early one is great (Nighthawks At The Diner?), and all the later albums have pretty amazing stuff on them- being their my favored era of Waits...but the one you have, and the one I recommended are my two faves...

waits is great: i still think 'real gone' is a masterpiece by any standard.

but almost any tom will do splendidly

The next best to Raindogs is Mule Variations imo

Truely one-of-a-kind singer/songwriter. My personal favorite album is Small Change which contains some great, great songs - Waltzing Matilda (Four Sheets to the Wind in Copenhangen), Step Right Up, Invitation To The Blues, and lots more. My next favorite is probably Rain Dogs or Nighthawks at the Diner. I love the feel of Nighthawks. (New songs recorded live in front of a small audience) His new album is fantastic. Keith Richards guests on it again. The video for Satisfied is just classic Tom Waits:

I love Tom Waits. One of my favourite things he did, was the soundtrack to the move One From The Heart...which he did with Crystal Gayle. It's awesome.
