"Real Love"

Postby MartinD18 » Mon Sep 13, 2010 1:49 pm

The greatness of George and his melodic riffs. So evident is in John's recording of "Real Love," in which Jeff Lynne so beautifully combined the contributions of Paul, George and Ringo. Ah... but it's the playing of George on "Real Love" that does it for me! A perfect contribution indeed! We miss you Mr. Harrison...

You are correct, Mr. Atom, my apologies. I should have said Jeff Lynne at Macca's Sussex Studio. I tend to have George Martin in the same breath whenever speaking about the others. Thanks for the input. I made the correction.

Are you saying the guitar riffs and solo on Real Love is not George Harrison?
If this were true it may be enough to ruin my day.

update: wikipedia seems to say that Lynne did not play on Real Love, only the Beatles.

Lazarus_2,

George Martin had suffered a hearing loss, so the Beatles brought in ELO's Jeff Lynne to produce. Rest assured it was GH playing those beautiful melodic fills. I too would have been disappointed if that wasn't Mr. Harrison. See it at: Beatles Real Love HD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bbwVeeSMZc Enjoy!!!

Now I'm confused.

So. It was George Martin on guitar, George Harrison produced it and Jeff Lynne was not present, correct? :?

I think I need to listen to Temporary Secretary again to clear my thoughts.
