Ever since The Beatles called it quits way back in 1970 Sir Paul has always been looked down upon with his music. It started when he wanted Linda to be in the band . Red Rose Speedway was a weird recording he was turning bubblegum with Silly Love Songs Denny Laine was mad because Macca put Wings to rest. How dare Macca record with Micheal Jackson ? Macca does what he does because he dose'nt care what the main streem tells him to do he does what he wants to do. And if you don't ,like it then thats fine don't pentalize someone for writing what they want. We all can't agree on everything  so don't :-@

quite cogent, mark...especially that bit about him doing what he'd like

if i might, a thought: simply that the beginning of 'that feeling' towards macca really might've been jumpstarted when john (with help from allen klein & george) began a bit of a campaign to 'blame' paul for the breakup of the beatles (even knowing that he had already set those wheels in motion himself),thus painting paul in a very bad light to all who did not have a clue...

and, being publically blamed (by no less than john) for the breakup of the worlds biggest band...that began the turn for the worse for his public image, of which the public misconceptions you've mentioned so eloquently just added to.

Actually, Lennon was angry because it was his own decision to quit, and Paul tried to make it look like it was his. I'm not sure what your point is?

" i just wanted a break..." would be his point...try it...

john was just p.o.'d that paul wouldn't march to johns drum any more...he wanted things to be done his way, and paul just shrugged his shoulders and moved on...

Yep and you know this because?? Oh yeah you were there right. How about taking a break knocking down Paul every chance you get. You have been warned, I won't hesitate to just delete your posts.

Very sorry to see you go, I take full responsibility for being too lenient and letting discussions go on their on and go too far. This will not be the case any longer and if necessary I will be looking for someone to help moderate these forums. jgkojak, I do hope your break is short. Hope to see you back soon!
