Awesoman SINGS (two Beatle-related covers)

Postby Awesoman » Thu Jun 17, 2010 12:27 pm

Here's two songs I recorded whilst I was attending college. Both songs should be well known to any Beatle fan. "Twenty Flight Rock" and a, um, free-form version of the Traveling Wilburys' "Congratulations". And yes, that's me singing lead vocals.

Know how I know you went to college? You said whilst. Nicely done.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

Thanks, guys. I recorded those back in 2003 as part of my senior project along with several other songs. (Maybe if I get around to it I'll post some more.) Since I was attending my college's school of music, I had a wealth of talented musicians to play on my tracks. It was a lot of fun putting it all together.

Here's one more: Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth". Recorded back in 2003 with the other tracks. Not quite as happy with how this one turned out as I was with "Twenty Flight Rock", but had fun doing all the harmonies.

i gotta give it up, man... :salute

i thought the second two were better than '20 flight..': the jangly, loose, frathouse feel of 'congratulations' was smile inducing, and i think you're too hard on 'for what..'; good stuff, esp. the harmonies

thanks

Appreciate the kind words! :-) Those songs were a lot of fun to record. One of my co-workers is recording some stuff and wanted me to do vocals on a song. Maybe I'll post it if it happens.
