Paul Bashes Bush (WARNING: HIGH POLITICAL CONTENT)

I will put a disclaimer right up from before my comments: I detest Barack Obama and most everything he stands for. That being said.....

I was disappointed with the comment, but I'd expect nothing else from Paul or most any wealthy celebrity, so I'll get over it. He can like Obama all he wants, but I think the slam on Bush (no great hero of mine, either) was unnecessary and besmirched Paul more than it did Bush. Paul bemoans the oil spill, but what has his hero Obama done about it in the past two months beyond blaming BP? Blame BP later, but command resources you have at hand as "leader" of the free world to contain the ecological impact of this disaster. At a time when leadership is needed, he's had nothing to offer. The governor of Louisiana was begging for required permits to deploy a plan to protect the local marshlands from the spill, but the administration dragged its feet DOWNLOAD.

Come Paul, you care passionately about the environment. Have you been paying attention to Barack's golf scores and vacations while the oil slick spreads? DOWNLOAD. For the White House, this is not an ecological emergency, it is a PR issue to be managed. You had a perfect opportunity to spur Obama to take more decisive action on this spill, but you decided instead waste it with a cheap shot at a president who's been gone now for 18 months. If Bush was still president, you'd tear him a new one over this and rightfully so. Enjoy Obama while you have him Paul. 2012 approaches and a growing majority in the US have had enough of this Jimmy Carter redux. I will always love you Paul, you've given me too much to ever change that. But I really could do without more of the political and veggie mantra. Remember what a wise man once said about too many people preaching practices.

WOAH! This is going too far into politics! Go ahead all you want but let it be known to everyone that this was not what I was aiming for when I posted this first.


P.S. I personally enjoy Palin to a point, but being objective, she wouldn't win an election against the President.

Macca needs to butt out of US politics and go strum his guitar or something ...... As a lifelong fan - I am done with him. I am selling most of collectibles and will not support his music anymore. He comes to our country -- takes our money fans and is living a life of luxury with that money .... and then he bashes Bush ................????? Who the He** does he think he is? I will always love the music, but things will never be the same again. It all started with his political video of Obama in background of Sing the Changes during '09 tour. That was bad enough. Now he is butting in where he has no dog in the fight. He needs to work on getting his US citizenship and leave the politics to his socialite gf Nancy. I am sure she is influencing him wholeheartedly. I can't blame Paul completely ... BUT he was wrong, wrong to Bash Bush. And to top it off I am a Texan so I am quadruple mad at him.

i don't think anyone should get that upset over what a muscian, even a legendary one, has to say about a politician. paul's political affiliation should not in any way convince anyone to think differently. if it does affect what you think, you should ask yourself how deeply your beliefs are in the first place.

as a dem, i always cringed when paul would say something political, and then here on this very site, posters would say..."well if paul said it..." as if THAT were some justification of why they think whatever they think.

i say lighten up. and to those who might want to get rid of their collectables...i say...e-mail me. we'll talk.

I agree with you. You seem rational. lol I wasn't getting upset at what he said or his beliefs, but the particular venue and time he said it. I simply felt it was inappropriate. Twas' all.

I too thought it was a cheap shot at our past president. It wouldn't surprise me if those lines actually came from the current Presidents speech writers. The Obama administration has been hung up since 2005 to tear down the Bush term(s).
However for Macca, there will be no long term backlash.

That is laughable. Obama has actually protected Bush and his cronies on numerous areas where Bush should be tried and convicted. You have a President who lied to the American people to get us into an unnecessary war that costs 5000 lives and 1 trillion dollars. That mismanaged the regulation of the finance industry to the point that the world economy collapsed... if Obama really wanted to bring Bush down he would have done it and Bush and Cheney would be in a prison cell.

The right has some paranoid fantasy that Obama's relatively centrist policies (add a few percentage points of taxes to people making $200,000 a year? Gasp! Copying Republican Mitt Romney's health care plan? GASP!) are somehow socialist- its utter B.S. and completely disconnected from reality. And its an attempt by corporate America to continue to shift the debate right to demonize any real reform that happens. And what's funny is the majority of teabaggers and rightwing extremists are the exact same people harmed by the policies and politicians they back.

I'll stop posting on this thread because I'm getting a little irate- but if you're gonna not have your facts straight you're gonna get called out on it.
