its ok chris i realize everybody loved it but i just preffered the burton versions and most didnt. its not that i hated it but for me keaton was the best batman. no offense to those who dont.

well mark that seems to be the general consensus and my friends tell me i am insane for not liking it. personally my fave superhero movies are the first superman movie and spiderman 2.

May I weigh in on the Batman debate...

I am an avid Batman fan and have been reading Batman Comics for over 20 years (except th last 2-3 years, man have they been awful). As far as the movies go, I do have a particular fondness for the first Burton film. And even though I would not say it was a better movie than the Dark Knight it was more, well... fun. Out of the Nolan films I actually prefer Batman Begins. Begins was the film as a Batman fan I always wanted to see but never dreamed they would make. The Dark Knight was a great FILM (period). But as far as a purely Batman movie goes, I'd have to say its a toss betweeen Batman '89 and Batman Begins.

Keaton was an amazing Batman, but not a great Bruce Wayne. Christian Bale is a great Bruce and a great Batman so over all I would say his performance knocks it out of the park for me. The minute I heard he was playing Batman I imagined him in American Psycho and knew this was the guy to get the job done right.

But honestly, for his time. Adam West was the most faithful to the role compared to what was happening in comics at the time.

Never did care for Batman Returns though.

Oh, finally saw the Lovely Bones Yesterday. Thought it was an incredibly well made movie with an unusual story. I mean how many times has the dead kid speaking beyond the grave been done? Yet this felt fresh.

ok why does everybody think the hangover was so great? just saw it on hbo and all i heard from my friends before was how it was the funniest movie ever. maybe i need to watch it again? also finally saw sideways. REALLY liked that one. maybe i am old?

Sideways, Mark...was fabulous. Although I think Paul Giamatti is great in just about everything he does. But that movie had a stellar cast that was pitch perfect. And I love Virginia Madsen.

And the Hangover? I have to agree. It was...sort of funny. But it wasn't the most hilarious ever. It wasn't even the funniest movie I'd seen that month (that would go to Zach and Miri make a porno, but I know writer/director Kevin Smith isn't for everyone) I am fine with grossout or raunchy, provided it can be somewhat clever at the same time (again, Zach and Miri) but for me the Hangover didn't deliver the goods.

i am not ordinarily one for formula movies...but i have to be honest, the judd apatow formula of rude, crude, then cruder still followed by sweet really gets to me. being the old codger that i am...maybe my uterus is just getting sensitive (chris gently wipes a tear oh-so-delicately from his cheek)...

Sideways is easily in my five favourite films of all time. Love the central theme about a certain type of male friendship - you can have almost nothing in common, but you're sort of attached to some of these people you lived across the hall from when you were 18.

I thought the Hangover really was a thinking-man's gross-out comedy. Though I don't think it was as good as Funny People (though FP was chock-full of Beatle music!)

i been on a michael douglas kick lately and watched the game and wall street and american president. loved all 3 but the game really blew me away, thoughts? he is so much a better actor than his dad imho
