George Tribute

Postby Chris Speers » Sat Sep 21, 2002 9:18 am

Ravi Shanker isn't playing? What's up with that? Does Clapton have an axe to grind with Ravi?

Norah Jones has admitted that Ravi is her papa. Did she know George as a child?

Ravi and his tribe of folks that played the concert for bangladesh should be allowed to play. GH's karma and spirit wouldn't like it if Ravi and his possee aren't allowed to play (this is after all the same GH whose remains were sprinked in the Ganges riveri n India and may have been sprinkled also in the Mersey)

Oh, Ravi is playing. Frampton isn't. Gee, Frampton was tight with GH on the All things must pass. But, seeing his lesser status with Rock Royalty maybe he gets a front row seat rather than an actual invite to jam on stage

I wouldn't let that elf anywhere near anything to do with the Beatles after his involvement in the Sgt Pepper movie. Too bad Ritchie forgot about that and let him in his ASB for a bit.

Thank goodness Egg was out that summer to get that thing out of my mind!!

Yeah, but, you should equal amount of hate for George Martin. I mean i love George MArtin to death but having all of those re-makes and agreeing to be involved as producer of that project was let's say disgraceful.

Martin is a genius but why he agreed to be involved in that dreck!

Well GM was obviously suffering from something during that period, due to the fact he produced an America album in 1977, about 2 years after their peak.

Thomas, it's taking place on Nov. 29th, the one year Anniversary of GH's death. Yes, both Paul and Ringo will be there, as well as Clapton, Jeff Lynn and Tom Petty. (Clapton actually organized it.)
