sorry maccafan but the 76 tour which i loved was at least to me the least fave set list. he needs to do beatle songs. maybe he could get away with not doing any now cause he has so much solo stuff but i gotta hear some beatles. and please dont misunderstand i LOVED the 76 tour but when i saw the 89 90 tour i liked it much better. just my opinion. :-D

mark, it's funny. i probably agree with your statement. it's funny because i am usually one who rants about paul doing too many beatle songs...now, anyway.

but in 76, the band was great, his voice was fabulous...and the setlist was good. his recent setlists, filled with beatle songs offer much better songs. but they could still use some tweaking. rarities...alternate takes...sped-up or slowed down, occasional extended jams...

but no matter what he does, he won't be satisfying everyone. just my two cents...

you sound wise chris. must be about my age 54? personally of all the bands i like his current one best and the 89 90 second best but all have been great. wouldnt matter though cause we all know he wont pick hacks. i am just so happy i got to see him many times and was never once disappointed or even close. i hope it never ends but know it has to sometime.

well, mark, i'm not quite there yet. only 42 but i still proudly consider myself an old codger.

and i, too like the current band best. with one possible exception...the run devil run band. just maybe would have given a pinkie to see them live...at the cavern. not my pinkie, naturally...but a pinkie nontheless.

I like the current band a lot and I do mean a lot, but not the best! The band in 76 is the very best band McCartney has had since the Beatles!

Wings in 76 wasn't a glorified cover band, which is what the current band really is, as good as they are they don't really perform a lot of their own original music like Wings did.

I prefer a more original setlist than a Beatle heavy one.

Wings in 76 is still to this very day the absolute very best concert tour McCartney has ever done, for me the setlist was miles better than the current basic one he's been dragging out since the 80's!

you know, funny thing...those beatle songs...they are originals...if paul originally wrote them

i guess you'ld rather see him sing richard cory than hey jude or let it be? wow

When I read this I initially thought you were asking which tour was his best live set.

I think the WOA tour set list is his best set list. But I'd get rid of:

Call Me Back Again
Beware My Love
and You Gave Me the Answer

And add:

Junior's Farm
A much shortened version of Some People Never Know to the acoustic set
and Got To Get You Into My Life
JJS

Wip, wop, wim and wham... indeed!

Chris, I find it very interesting that you would compare Richard Cory to Hey Jude and Let It Be?

No, what I would prefer is for McCartney to perform Juniors Farm or Hi Hi Hi instead of the million times he's performed Hey Jude and Let It Be!
