So I went to see the Arctic Monkeys last night, great show, etc.

Anyway, they were playing some decent stuff over the PA before the band came on, but of Under My Thumb, etc.

Then I hear some wah-wah guitar, big drums, horns, Phil Spector.....and it was The Art of Dying!

It actually sounded very modern and fresh. Bass really high in the mix too :salute

It's kind of nice to see a hyped up band....just kids really when they broke out.....actually getting better and better. The stuff on Youtube is pretty impressive.

And it's pretty rare these days. Out of this decade's "Big Indie Bands" they're one of the few who have shown real progression with their sound. You should check out the side-project he did last year, The Last Shadow Puppets, really shows off his songwriting chops. I think he's going to be the real deal.

always been surprised more people didn't cover that song. tis a fine one, i've always thought.

and isn't just awesome...the witnessing of great live music? speaking of the art of dying...so much of it (live music, that is) is pre-recorded or worse, pre-sung.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.
