Today, Ono is respected by artists such as Cornelia Park and Cindy Sherman, artists who practice the kind of art Ono pioneered forty years ago. Ono's influence can be seen in the music world as well. Her avant-garde sounds of the late sixties had their effect on punk rock and her influence reverberates in the work of many of today's most respected musicians. Ono's music remains current and it has been rumored that she is preparing to tour for the frist time in five years.
