And just think---they recorded it in 16 hours!

George: "and the second one took even longer!"

[:D][:D]

I nearly slipped off my chair laughing to that one! Brilliant!

But which George are we talking about?

I've been a bit bogged down with getting new albums - here's a list of the albums I've got in the last two weeks:

John - STINYC
Paul - CHOBA B CCCP
Ringo - Ringo
Foreigner - Double Vision
Hollies - compilation
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds + compilation

Which is quite a bit to be getting on with - but I shall finish my analysis of WTB tonight, and get onto AHDN, PROMISE!

Ahhh, I see. I found Liam's thread about his "Albums Project." I don't think you've been keeping up with your analyses, Liam! [:D] Aren't you on AHDN now?

what does this mean? What is the project- just listening to the albums from the first to last??
Is that what Liam is after here? To hear the evolution?
That would make sense, but he'd also need the decca tapes, as well.

It's so I can get a firm opinion of their ALBUMS, rather than just their SONGS. I came into all their stuff at once, pretty much, and so didn't do much discrimination between albums.

It makes sense to me now, Liam.
I am so blessed to actually have seen the Beatles from 64 on...
To actually have experienced their evolution from then on was extraordinary. Single after album after single, they made such strides musically in such a relatively brief period of time. It's a long way from I Wanna Hold Your Hand to A Day In the Life and that was only 3 years. You don't see anything like that nowadays.
That's why they are great, and why they are untouchable as far as their natural talents are concerned.
And Liam, do you have the excellent book, The Beatles Recording Sessions by Mark Lewisohn? Quite indespensible in studying the Beatles.

Right, totally agreed, Auj. A must-have book. Liam, being a pretty analytical dude, I HIGHLY suggest that you get that book, man. I think you'd really enjoy it.
