how much from the Olympics are you going to watch?

We have to be careful not turning this into some politic[/b][/b]

Well I must say that the Olympics have become to big. There was a time where I watched as much from the Olympics as I could, this time I think I wont spend so much time in fornt of the TV. Of course if my countrymen do well I will..

Hardly any. I might watch woman's gymnastics because there's a girl from my state competing, Shawn Johnson :)

I heard the other day that the US is complaining China has several underage children. But China managed to produce new documents for proof of age. I think the news show said they have to turn 16 in the Olympic year to qualify.

Don't think I'll watch too much but I'll try to catch some of the games.

Just getting a little political :) China made agreements with Olympic officials to ease off the press restrictions etc. but they have not. Was strange watching athletes walking around with masks on. The pollution and dust is that bad. They even forced a few million cars off the road and closed down factories. Well now they may have to pay price with whole world watching for taking environmental shortcuts to make more $$$. It's short-term success for the few. They'll have a rebellion for higher wages, better work conditions and environmental standard and mega billions to clean up their chemical messes. Too bad it will take a generation or two of suffering communities on the fringes of the factories. China is huge but there is only so many times, so many factories can close down heavily damages areas and open up elsewhere. It will catch up.

I won't watch much. Boxing is my sport, and Canada is only sending one boxer! A one man boxing team! How insane is that!

We had a carpenter in the house doing some work and his assistant is a boxer going to China. He said the Canadian system is crap and a big joke so he trained and is going representing his home country of Brunei. His name is Rolande Moses, nice guy.

I'll be watching as much as I can - love the obscure sports that you'd never otherwise watch!
May sweet memories of friends from the past
