This is a cool idea BTW.

Opening thought on London Town: a massive departure from what he'd previously done. He'd just toured the world with a huge rock show and then records synthy stuff in a boat in the Virgin Islands! And Jimmy and Joe are on most of the album...weird.

But, it's a real grower. A few duff tracks aside (Children Children, Name And Address), it's pretty cool. I'm Carrying is a great lost Wings classic (why it's not on Wingspan I don't know - he probably forgot about it), and ...Bring You Down complements it perfectly at the end of the record.

I've a question to those around in the 70s - how was it generally recieved? Wings' profile (esp in America) must've been massive and then...London Town.
And what's wrong with that?

The inspiration sources to this album are without a doubt protection of nature and animal rights and I actually think this message is shown plain enough. The thing about it is that the lyrics are not very well written. They are written in a very simpel way, like: I saw a cat with a machine in its brain ..etc..The message is plain, but the lyrics themselves don´t reach the level. On the other hand there are actually very nice melodies on the album. I love winedark open sea, though it doesn´t do well in the survivor rounds and get out of my way is a nice rocker. Some of the songs need a little more like Peace in the neighboorhood and Biker like an icon. I love his collaboration with Elvis, TLTNW and MAM. HOD is sort of underrated and overrated on the same time. It´s very famouse in the north of Europe. It´s played several times on the radio, but a lot of people don´t seem to like it anyway. C´mon people is a nice one and did well live. OTG leaves a image of wonderful melodies and a bit uninterresting lyrics. It makes it as a very average album.
