I have been totally obcessed with Deep Purlpe for a while. I just have to hear everything.

I've been checking out a ton of my city's (Omaha, Ne) local music, and have come to understand why they say that Omaha might become the next Seattle, soon. So much talent. I discoverd a kick-ass bar just blocks from my home that features some out-of-this-world acoustic music. Along with national touring acts, a non stop cycle of local musicians grace the stage and its crystal clear sound system. Here are a few of my favs:

Indigenous. A Native American band that plays some killer, hard driving blues.

Anchondo. A bunch a highschool buddies that formed a garage band. They combine to create some seriously infectious music. They blend rock, reggae, ska, latin and blues. An audio party!

Sarah Benck and the Robbers. Most likely to emerge as a national force. Such a delicate looking, young redhead......with Etta James-like pipes. Damn!

Three artists that I am really into at the moment are BEN FOLDS (who probably needs no introduction to you good American people!) , THE FEELING and DUKE SPECIAL.

You might be aware that The Feeling are a British 5 piece band who I think had a bit of success a year ago in America, and have just released their 2nd album here in the UK. They are a cross between, ELO, Supertramp, 10cc, Queen and Wings...in other words, they are brilliant. The new album went straight in at No.1 in our charts, but I am not sure if it has been released in America yet. Try to get it !

Duke Special is an Irish singer, whose sound is almost music-hall / vauderville - there is no-one like him. Only one album so far - which is excellent from start to finish. He look like something out of a Goth band, but he sings like an angel !

A band out of the U.S. called 'Band of Horses' are pretty good
another band I like are 'Metric'

The new Sam Roberts album 'Love At The End Of The World' is pretty good too.
