Very good line up....I love Colin Hay both with Men At Work and his solo albums. He's an ultra talented fellow.
I go back so far... I'm in front of me!

You know I'm about 90 min. from Niagara Falls and I'm not going. I went to the very first one, amazing lineup and great show! but, for me, the last three lineups have just been abysmal. After that first tour he still had some of my faves work with him (Todd Rundgren, Dave Edmunds, Ian Hunter, John Entwhistle, etc., etc.) but it would just be depressing to see him with this lineup. I was truly hoping for a return to form, so I could see him one last time...but with this show, I'll stick with the memories, rather than taint them, and hope that he keeps working and that we get one more great tour from him, someday. Blessings!

I'm about 25 minutes from the Falls Casino. If I can get tickets I'm going. I've never seen Ringo live and this will be a great opportunity to see him in a great venue. Every seat is pretty good and sound is fantastic.

Mike nice to know you are nearby!! I lived in Buffalo from '91-'94, and have fond memories. What town are you from in Ontario? Maybe someday we'll meet up for a Macca gig. The one time I saw him was '89 in Toronto!!
I'll tell you what if I had never seen him, I'd go to Niagra Falls in a second (especially if I was 25 min. away!!). HE is great...sings and sounds great, great energy, and just amazing on the drums. And while I still standby my statements on the last three or so tour lineups, at least this is the best of those three...and Gary Wright is a pretty decent, if not outright great, addition. Being 90 min. (at least) away for me, added to the fact that I'm in the 8th (of 9) trimester of an excruciatingly demanding grad school program (Oriental Medicine) and perpetually low on funds I just can't manage it right now.
You are also right in that it is an amazing venue to see him in. I'm not into the energy of Casinos in any sense (gambling or the upscale corporate feel of the entertainment stuff), I got to see Blondie a few years ago for free (an ex-girlfriend married Chris Stein- who shares my penchant for all things of a mystical, magical nature- his great passion actually, and we loves lots of the same music...and yes. of course, he is an absolute Beatles fiend) at a similar nearby Casino near Syracuse, and the sound was top-notch, with intimate seating- pretty darn close to ideal really. I was heartbroken that I missed Steely Dan last tour as they played both Niagara Falls, and Turning Stone (the one near Syracuse) Casinos and I found out after they'd been there. I've never seen them, and they are a real a favorite of mine.
I may try to nab a ticket for either the Rochester or Buffalo sold out Springsteen shows (wait until the last minute and see if any scalpers get desperate enough to sell them at cost rather than have to eat them- haven't seen him since '84 & while The E-Street Band may still play live dates in the future, this is supposed to be the last tour), & I'll be seeing Richard Thompson solo acoustic for the first time in over a decade in April in Rochester. Hoping that Macca will tour as well, of course!!!!
Thanks for all you provide here with Macca-Central!!!! Blessings of Love & Light to You & Yours!!!
Om Namah Shivaya !!!!

Hey Mike...I saw Ringo at the Gulfport, Mississippi, Grand Casino before Hurricane Katrina obliterated it...The show was great !! Colin Hay was also with the group along with John Waite, Paul Carrack, Sheila E. and the one and only Billy Sh...err uh Ringo Starr.

Several things stood out...(1) He's really a good singer, (2) He's the funniest...will just crack you up when he interacts with the audience and (3) the varying ages of the crowd...One my row alone was a 7 year old with her 29 year old mother who was with her 55 year old mother who was with her 80 year old mother...4 generations of chicks who love Ringo and The Beatles...and people still wonder how they still sell records...Ha !

I wish he'd do a couple of UK gigs. Anyone know the last time he played a proper gig outside North America? I won't lose sleep over it, but I'd love to see him belt out one of the greatest tunes of all time (with a little help...) live in front of me.
May sweet memories of friends from the past
