Ringo appearing on LIVE with Regis & Kelly, Tues., Jan. 22

The show has always had this rule. And they booked months ago, knowing it. If Ringo didn't know, then his representatives should shoulder the blame for not letting him know what they are signing him up for.

James Brown walked out 12 years ago when they wouldn't break the rule for him, after agreeing to it and he showed up intending to put a whole long show on.

The song isn't that good, and could use over 2 minutes shaved off of it.

When a casino gives your concert tickets away for free to extremely low frequency players (like me), I don't think the ego should be that big to walk off one of the most watched morning shows in the U.S.

Ringo doesn't seem to be making too many friends on this PR tour of his.

He needs to turn the ego down.

As far as the whole Regis thing goes...if this is hard rule, BUT Ringo's folks has misunderstood the details, AND Ringo is there and trying to be accomodating, then why the heck if he's willing to bend, can't the Regis Show bend as well. I thought Ringo was quite gracious in how he handled his choice...Dave Stewart was less so, but in his defense I agree completely with the content of what he said; even if how he said it was a bit mean..."butt" funny. Sorry I couldn't resist.

He isn't mean, he speaks highly of the time he had there recently, of his past there, but honestly says that things are massively different from when he lived there, and he doesn't miss it per se....meaning maybe that he doesn't dwell in the past, or that he is happier where and how he is now.
I really don't feel his ego is causing him any problems. I honestly don't think he has an ego problem. Now if it was Paul whose ego was in question I'd be willing to say we might have a subject worthy of investigation...to be fair, wonderful as he was, John was honest about fessing up to a yo-yo low self esteem/over inflated ego tendency...George didn't seem as ego driven as John or Paul, but I think might have been moreso than Ringo ever was. Blessings!!

When you think about it, this is probably better promotion than had he played the show!

His fiasco where he pissed of the inhabitants of Liverpool, walking off Regis and Kelly, and his lack of graciousness to his fans in New York, illustrated by the videos circulating around. In a short period of time, he has hit several headlines for all the wrong reasons. Not great publicity or actions when you're trying to get the public to have interest in you and your music, and your last few tours have been going down hill and getting more "B" and "C" headliners as they continue.

It has always been their standard policy and is listed in their appearance contracts. Ringo's people signed onboard for this back in November. Seems somebody didn't read the paperwork they signed on for.

In all the years that they have had this policy, only one other performer (and they get some pretty big names performing) had a problem with their policy the day of showing up, and that was James Brown, 12 years ago, who showed up ready to put on a whole show. He also left.

This is live tv, and scheduled down to the second. You can't show up the day of the show, and think the whole schedule is going to get changed for you, when you signed a contract agreeing to the terms. This is not taped where they can go in and start editing things to make everything fit.

Ringo even had to cut the song down for his appearance on Letterman.

Ringo was there to promote his single! He's doing them a favour especially if it helps boost viewing figures....give the man a break! You'll have him beheaded next!!

If they cut out an ad break, they would be sued. Commercials/Ads pay for the show. That's how tv works. Live tv is very different from taped. Last minute surprises lead to chaos.

This show is the top rated morning show and has been for years. Ringo needs them for exposure....sorry to say, they don't need him for ratings.

I love Ringo. I don't want him beheaded. Maybe his people should be beheaded for signing a contract back in Nov., not reading it's contents and alerting him to same. But on the other hand, I also have no patience for inflated egos. Ringo and his side broke the contract and it's terms. That's the bottom line.
