Ringo on BBC1 Tonight

Just to let you know Mr Richard Starkey is a guest on tonight's (18/01/08) edition of Friday Night with Jonathan Ross (BBC1 10:35pm).

If you're outside the UK or just plain miss it, then it is on the BBC's new i-player facility for 7 days (I think this is internationally available) go to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer

I'm setting my video as I type this (not easy I can tell you). Should be a great interview! :)

Incidentally did anyone hear him on Radio 2 Steve Wright Show on Wed 16th. Very funny! The man was on top form. You can still hear it here!

Just click on Wednesday's show...it's about 1 hr 15 mins into it! (You'll need realplayer BTY).

Seems he didn't make too many fans with that appearance:

Just starting to listen to the Radio 2 interview now. Don't know how I missed it but thanks for the alert Harry.

I thought Ringo was great on Ross. He was funny and was fitting in with the show's irreverent/cheeky image. The comments on Liverpool were fair enough, honest and amusing I thought. He didn't criticise the city and was very kind about his memories but has moved on - its not his home any more! Although I did wonder how many he would upset with his honesty.

There's a time and place for everything, and there is a time when honesty is not the best policy. As the city is being celebrated this year and he is part of those celebrations, not a good time to piss the people off that live there and haven't moved on. It's called bad taste. Or maybe he's pissed that Macca is the focal of the celebration and not him. Macca has never wavered from his public comments of love for his hometown, and he is the one Beatle that has never forgotten his roots.

I must admit it wasn't good timing on Ringo's part. However, I don't expect the people of Liverpool to burn their Beatle records over this one.
Incidentally, about the half arsed story in The Sun. The reason Ringo mimed to Liverpool 8 on GMTV is because he had a stinking cold and could just about talk let alone sing and has sang live on every other appearance he made during the week.

Another radio update - Ringo was on Gold on 19/1/08 interviewed by David (Kid) Jensen.
Also the Liverpool 8 Special will be broadcast on Gold 22/1/08 (7 PM - 8 PM). Here's a link so you can listen to the broadcast if you wish. :)
