Successful Paul

Postby akweaver » Tue Nov 13, 2007 3:59 am

It is clear through history of music that many musicians wanted to be a Beatle while others stood their creative ground for individualism.

Every woman wanted to be with one of the Beatles either having their hand in marriage or just some sort of relationship with them.

Imagine that...we might find it isn't as glamorous as thought along with the pressures to perform and sustain the "ideal Beatle".

Projecting an image while living a private life is challenging, juggling career, family, business, reputation, and then to do it on a global scale with everyone watching...having a wide degree of criticism whether constructive or penalizing, when he reads what is said about him.

The question is what do we understand about Paul?

Seems like he has made a fabulous effort mastering the juggling act.

I think he is a very complex man. And the public sees only a small part of him.

i'm sure he is complex, probably in a good way. dealing with people for as long as he has, i'm sure he knows people are going to be people no matter what. :D

part of dealing with people...interviews...have made him easily pretend he is both fine and happy when he may realistically not be. i think a lot of what we see from him is what i refer to as "automatic paul"...charm...jokes...a wry look-away...as if life were one long inside joke, and paul is in on it.

you know when a movie is being released...and the actors get together to do a promotional thing on entertainment tonight (or something like it) and the actors seem like they have been best friends for the longest time...but then you find out later that they actually loathed each other...but they did it to sell a project (movie, tv show...whatever.) i think paul has been doing this for over 40 years. nothing wrong with that. who wants to by a product from a grumpy goober? i just think at least a small part of it is an act when the cameras are turned on.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

i'm sure when the cameras off he is alot like you and me. good days, bad days. all in all i, believe in the fame business it's either learn to be yourself and deal with it or let it get to you and stand live on the edge.

Summary:

BEATLES - HELP!

Help! I need somebody.
Help! Not just anybody.
Help! You know, I need someone, help!

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured
Now I find I've changed my mind, I've opened up the door.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being 'round.
Help me, get my feet back on th ground.
Won't you please, please, help me?

And now my life has changed in, oh, so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But ev'ry now and then I feel so insecure.
I know that I just need you like I've never done before.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being 'round.
Help me, get my feet back on th ground.
Won't you please, please, help me?

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured
Now I find I've changed my mind, I've opened up the door.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being 'round.
Help me, get my feet back on th ground.
Won't you please, please, help me?
Help me! Help me!

The most appropriate summary:

BEATLES - Another Girl

For I have got another girl, another girl

You're making me say that I've got nobody but you
But as from today well I've got somebody that's new
I ain't no fool and I don't take what I don't want
For I have got another girl, another girl

She's sweeter that all the girls and I've met quite a few
Nobody in all the world can do what she can do
And so I'm telling you this time you'd better stop
For I have got another girl

Another girl who will love me till the end
Through thick and thin she will always be my friend

I don't wanna say that I've been unhappy with you
But as from today, well I've seen somebody that's new
I ain't no fool and I don't take what I don't want
For I have got another girl

Another girl who will love me till the end
Through thick and thin she will always be my friend

For I have got another girl

Another girl who will love me till the end
Through thick and thin she will always be my friend

For I have got another girl

I admire Sir Paul, of course, with all his talent, and success, but I have always felt pity for him, as his life, must be difficult. I was watching a video on John Lennon, and in this video, a young man had been living in the woods by John's house. When questioned, the young man had a glazed tired look in his eyes, "I just wanted to be close to you John, I feel so connected". John looked so sad as he sighed and asked him, "have you eaten today", and when he was told no by his new "friend", John opened the door to his house and waved the kid in, the next scene is John and his family sharing a breakfast with this kid. John tells him, "look I am just like you a person no more or less, I love my family and work to support them". He wanted to connect on a human level with this kid so he could see him as a man, and not the image he had of John. It really touched me, as I thought " poor people can not just live their lives". I have the joy of calling my life my own how ever modest it is, I can go
to the park and act silly with the kids. No one bothers us, no one intrudes however well meaning on our family. Then there is the fear factor, of course, I think if I were Sir Paul, I
would at times be afraid of my fame, and how it has harmed my band mates. I think we see the "Sir Paul", he wants us to see, having years of experience, but every so often you can
see a picture, of him, his photos with Linda, or his children, or when the stupid press asked
him how he felt after George had died. He stood there in his jammies, and the look on his face
was just, well any way, I admire him for his strength/class. But I would never want to live that sort of life. Just my thoughts.....
