Yoko has been given enough 4-star ratings by Rolling Stone for her albums for her not to care much about what people think of her music, and that doesn't really answer the question about Paul and her, anyway.

Maybe there is a little truth to both of them being possessive of John in a way. Paul's relationship with John threatens her own and her relationship threatens his and John's so perhaps there is a little truth to that, but they haven't always NOT gotten along. I think in the very beginning, they were nice to each other, John and Yoko even stayed at Paul's house at one point- right after John's death, they reconciled and had a good relationship, that soured quickly but then in the early 90's they reconciled again, even to the point where Yoko stayed with Paul to produce one ofher albums at his home studio.

Both are alot alike, very headstrong, both used to getting their way, both are artistic and have big ego's so maybe it is inevitable they clash and can't keep things on a nice level. Both have been accused of being bossy, domineering and unbearable, not a good trait for two to get along. Yoko is over 70, Paul over 60 and I don't see them EVER having a good relationship again. Both loved John, both miss John, unfortunately, both use John to get back at the other when they should leave him out of it but it's the only weapon they have.

Concerning the "4-star" ratings by Rolling Stone. I understand that Yoko has been very close friends for some years with Jan Werner the RS mag bigshot. Do I smell nepatism?

The most humourous story I have ever heard regarding Yoko was when George asked John to appear at the concert for Bangla Desh in 1971. John apparently asked George if he would like Yoko to do anything special, to which George's reply was 'Yes - I'd like her to enjoy watching the show'. I think George spoke for every Beatle fan in the world - both past and present - when he came out with that one.

Why am I not suprised?

I once read that Linda, on the contrary, said that her Beatle-hero was John, but when she met him the enthusiasm was gone and she discovered it was Paul she liked. Looks like we could have had exchanged couples here...Wow, don't like the sound of that.
