Postby EddieV » Tue Oct 09, 2007 11:18 am

I´ve just read this book called Paul McCartney playing the great Beatles basslinesand this is really great. It goes into every detail in the bass playing in the Beatles career.

Anyone else read it

I guess you will be a huge fan of such a book! Cool for bass-players.
You must appreciate the day...

That wasn´t a day too early. Maybe Paul was so special in his bass-playing because he also was a good guitarrist. I don´t agree with those who think he was a better lead-guitarrist than George, but he was really good. But then, of course, he started as guitarrplayer. Stu was the original bassplayer as you know för sure. Pauls bassplaying on songs like "I´m a looser" and "One after 909" are examples that are really innovative.

In the book it says that Paul worked very hard to improve on the bass. He often stayed behind working on new basslines.

Paul also says in the book that he stole from other bass-players eg. I Saw Her Standing There.
