Ringo didn't get Rock Hall nomination

Postby Scott Dossett » Fri Sep 28, 2007 3:45 pm

Well, that just sucks especially since a couple of the "acts" that did get the nomination...Only hope that the Dave Clark 5 get in...always liked them...Maybe next year Rings

No offense Scott, but why in the hell would Ringo ever make it into the Hall of Fame as a solo artist??!

Here's an old list and surely there are plenty on this list that don't belong before Ringo Starr...Ringo belongs in the Rock Hall if not just for his live shows...He's great live ! Just my opinion though.

Have a great weekend Rick ! The wife and I are headed to a new oyster house in Hattiesburg so give me an hour and I'll be slurping a dozen down the pipe and chasing it with an ice cold brewsky. Peace :salute

Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers
The Shirelles
The Staple Singers
The Dells
I'm pretty sure Ringo had as many top 40 hits as any of those artists.
And way more than the Sex Pistols or the Velvet Underground.

In all fairness "The Dave Clark 5" did shift alot more vinyl then Ringo in his solo years, in fact they shot a movie in 1965 a couple of miles up the road from where I live at Bigbury. There's an Island there called Burr Island with a sea tractor that takes you there when the tide is in.......sorry I'm boring you now aren't I?

You're never boring, HTB, I appreciate your posts -- too bad about Ringo though, I was looking for Paul to induct him! That would have been fun to watch!

That was the point EV...there's a bunch that ARE members who aren't up there with the best...the one's mentioned beginning with Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers and ending with the Sex Pistols and Velvet Underground.

Do you seriously think that the Sex Pistols and Velvet Underground deserve to be in the Rock Hall ahead of Ringo Starr..."NO" would be the answer my friend.
