Zeppelin reunion with...Ringo

Postby DeRick » Sat Sep 08, 2007 6:05 pm

I just saw that the 3 remaining members of Led Zepplin are reuniting or a tour, Jason gonna fill in for his late dad. But what if he dropped out. Could Ringo maybe... I dont mean to compare Ringo with Bonzo but i really believe Ringo could do what Bonzo did. Agree? Im gonna listen to "The End" & "Moby Dick" back to back and see if theres any similarities.

I don't know, i think he could drum hard rock even at his age. I find it interestng that after all the deaths of these classic rock drummers always offing themselves with alcohol (Bonzo, Moon, John Panazzo) Ringo was the one who made it through. Who knows he just might even end up as the last serviving Beatle. :salute

ps: i dont think Ringo would get blisters on his fingers if he drummed hard rock.

Wait a sec... are yall saying Ringo was more of a "personality" than a drummer? :x

As much as I love Ringo who is one of the great "no frills" drummers much like Charlie Watts, I'm afraid I have to say Ringo isn't in the same league as John Bonham and certainly couldn't handle "Moby Dick".

As much as I love Ringo, his style isn't really applicable in this case...Ringo is a tight 'in the pocket' kind of drummer...Bonzo was a soloist within the song. Zep's style requires a bit of bombast and overplaying that Ringo hasn't done, at least on any recording I've heard. Ringo would fit better in bands like the Beach Boys or maybe with Tom Petty....folks like that. He might have been a good fit in the Beatles!

Chris, your restraint was admirable.
