::A Hard Day's Night

A discussion of all the Beatle albums

I just finished hearing "A hard day's night" in its entirety. By Far it is the Beatles most rocking album. Too bad "I wanna be your man" is not on it. The album is as concise and enjoyable as Rubber Soul (though rubber soul has more moments of sheer brilliance).

by the way. have any of the tracks from the George Martin Orchestra (from the US release) ever come out on CD form? I would love to hear them.

This must be Lennons best Beatles album. So many great songs. Right they were rocking The Beatles in 1964.

First post in this thread. How can this be released in 1963 when it was recorded in 1964??? :lol:

Brilliant album. The only one containing only Lennon/Mccartney songs

The above UK release date is for "With the Beatles". innit?

I've just re-listened to this entire CD and, try as I might, I cannot find a quibble with any of these songs...some reviews (not here) have called a few of these tunes 'filler'.....and what superb filler! Most bands would have given anything to have those 'fillers' for an a-side. Lennon's high point as far as quality & quantity, at least with the Beatles, IMHO.
If love is blind, how will it ever find a way?

Agreed, Lennon is chief songwriter and sings lead on 9 of the 13 songs. Without doubt his most prolific period as a songwriter!
Superb album from start to finish and maybe only lacks that Ringo song! perhaps "Matchbox" should have been included!

Agreed. Lennons time as the leader. Though Can´t buy me love and Things we said today are some of the best on the album.
You must appreciate the day...

Paul only performed And I Love for the Unplugged album?? Come on Paul play this, maybe as a substitute for Yesterday??

It's an album full of unbridled joy. Listening to it is the most uplifting experience in the Beatle canon. They weren't cynical about things yet, they were always laughing, and the songs are so confident. It often makes the odd tear of joy roll down my face :cry:
