When isee stories about Lennon's "lost weekend" with May Pang, Harry Nilson and Elton John, i keep seeing Ringo with him. That's when he was also going through a divorce from Maurine and John was seperated from Yoko. I guess they were both going through the sae hard time together.

In fact this was the time when The Beatles were most likely to have played together again. John & Paul did jam along with Stevie Wonder during one boozy night at John's beach house with Ringo turning up just hours later when Paul & Linda had left!!!
