Well, backing to topic, I asked about his voice only on Beatle-era.
But I must to say that his voice improved very much especially from 1967 until nowadays. Got better and better along all these years indeed!!

Peace.

I agree his voice is much better than it was in 1989 or 1990 or 1993. I have to admit though that while his delivery and his passion for a vocal has gotten better - there is absolutely no way that i would say that his voice is as good as it was in 1968, 1970, or even 1976. Paul's ability to sing things like Here Today and stuff is solid. But, his rock n roll voice - his live voice that had such an amazing range is limited. I think one of the worst moments on tour that i ever experienced was hearing Paul ruin "Birthday" in 1990 on tour. One of my favorite songs and he ruined by thinking he was 28 again and could still sing it...Instead, he growled through it andi t was embarassing.

Yet, if he is selective and alternates the rockers and the ballads and doesn't try to sing "Junior's farm", "Rock Show" or "Monkberry Moon Delight", he'll be ok cause he still has decent timber on his rock n roll voice. But, you would be delusional if you think he still has the pipes of old...YOu know what i mean?[:o)]

Strongest period definately 68-77, for me. But--his live voice took a bit of a dive in 90 & 93..I was so surprised to hear how much it had improved in 2002.

Actually, I have to say that this is Paul's best touring voice since he left The Beatles. As Mike pointed out one time, during the '76 tour, Paul immediately came out screaming so much, that halfway through the set his voice was half gone. And I think his voice is much better now than 89 or 93. So in my opinion, 2002 is Paul's best SOLO touring voice yet.

for me, best live vocals would have to be wings over america. he was about 34 and at his vocal peak. but his last 3 concecerts that i had the pleasure of seeing in the new york area were frightfully outstanding. it blows away anything i saw from him live in '89, 90, and '93.

And....I'm happy to say, that on the night of his third show in 4 nights, and a day after a show in ST Louis, he was once again in GREAT voice on 10-10-02. Amazing...and not a glass of water to be found anywhere on stage the entire evening. The guy is a machine!!! The high notes are really what amazed me the most. Not to mention the harder rockers where he once again showed NO strain in his voice whatsoever.

That´s AMAZING Steve!!! I´m glad that he´s still in his best shape to sing!! He´s 60 but seems that he gets younger when on stage!!! He really is THE MAN!!!!

Peace.
