i agree mr guru, sir. at times george certainly said exactly what was on his mind. he may not have meant any harm, but then he may have. but i hope he came around with the thought that the song was served much better with the bassline as it appeared on the album.

I've always liked Lady Madonna, Hey Bulldog and Rain.
I also like the Bass work on Beautiful Night and Too Much Rain, I know those are solo but they are Great nonetheless.

BTW, from one of Mark Lewishon's Beatle books (the one w/ a chrolology of events) - it says JOHN played bass on Helter Skelter !

I never realised this...I've just belted out the mono mix of this one and the bass is incredible. Boy these guys were multi instrumentalists!!
