I saw it last night and loved it. I like Bond movies anyway and as usual, this one didn't let me down. Didn't know if I would like the new one, but again as susal, I did.............................ALOT

Not just a terrific Bond movie.....but a terrific movie. Action, romance, Eva Green.

I've got to get this off my chest. Saw the film last night and hated it. It was the most miserable, downbeat, mean-spirited unBondian Bond film I've ever had the misfortune to sit through.
To get things into perspective, I've loved all the Bond films from Dr.No to A View To A Kill, I'm a huge admirer of Fleming and have read all of his novels many times and I even liked Goldeneye (splendid) and TND. But, this wasn't Bond. Craig just wasn't Bond. He was even worse than Dalton (who never acted like Bond). There's been lots of talk of CR being like FRWL and some of the other early Connery films. No such thing. It was way too sweary (piss, bugger, arse and bastard are not Bond film words) and it was way too violent. I never felt I was watching Bond. And what on earth was it all about. No idea. Like the last two films, I found the plot completely unintelligable. It didn't seem to have anything to do with the novel which I've read over and over. Couldn't understand a word. He's the first chav Bond, aswell as being too short, too ugly, a crap actor and a vulgar little man of the lowest order. How I wish for the days of Connery and Moore. They were class acts, great actors, seemingly good men...
and they starred in films that made sense.

no offense against our good friend jules, but, if the vibe i'm picking up from his overview is correct, i believe that i will love this Bond...

i have been very intrigued from the moment they cast Craig...it boded very well - the first thought was " maybe it'll be like Dalton ', but, i figured the producers would blow it (again)...Bond was always meant to be dangerous, and, for it's time, the initial Connery ones were, believe it or not, considered a little edgy.

the casting of Lazenby was, IMO, a darned good one, the first two Moores were respectable, but the rest began a slow slide into near farce..(i still enjoy them, tho..)

i couldn't even bring myself to check any of the Brosnan ones out, in the theater...they ALL became 'wait-for-video' moments, and only the last one had a really good feel, for me...and i like pierce brosnan as an actor, it was just too darn clear, considering the Broccolis invol...er, overinvolvement that they were angling back into the late roger moore style.

ennywayz...i am rather P.O.'d that i haven't had a chance to see it (it's one film i have been eager to see, the promos are wonderful !), but am happy to see that 007 still brings out a good crowd. my local theater is only showing it twice, and none have fit my schedule...but, soon...very soon

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it Jules.
I wasn't sure I would but was plesantly surprised. I liked Craig as Bond. He pulled it off I thought. I haven't read any of the books so I can't comment as to how close the film came to the actual story, but I thought as movies go...Bond movies...I thought it was edgy... but still fun. I liked the "i've got an itch" line. That, I thought, was Bond 2006.

For some reason...I think Angry will also enjoy the "itch" comment....

No offense jules....but.... you miss Roger Moore?

No OFFENCE taken! But yes, I do miss Moore. I'm 34. The first Bond film I saw at the cinema was For Your Eyes Only when I was nine I think. I grew up on Moonraker, FYEO, Octopussy, A View To A Kill. I love both Connery and Moore. They had class, they had ineffable, indefatigable style.
