Right, Ram1. Paul said himself in that news conference that they (The Beatles, himself included) thought the Maharishi was something more than he was. He alluded to the fact that they thought he was somehow more than human. John wasn't the only one. The Beatles were duped. Or they allowed themselves to be duped.

The Beatles, especially John, started to be disappointed with the Maharishi when they found out that he was taking advantage of some women in Rishikesh.

Mia Farrow, in her book, said Maharishi put his arms around her when they were alone and she was offended by that and left the ashram.
Maharishi promised to teach the Beatles meditation.
That's all he promised.
A better way of dealing with life's stresses.
That's what he delivered.
I don't see that anyone was "duped".
That's why George and Paul still like him. Meditation is wonderful and I use it too.

I always thought that it was Mia's sister--but maybe I'm confusing the stories behind the songs Dear Prudence and Sexy Sadie. I'm probably wrong...AGAIN! LOL

Auj, I'm not saying The Beatles were "duped". John and Paul basically said it themselves. Obviously Paul has since changed his mind about the Maharishi. But when The Beatles returned home in '68, John and Paul had a news conference and were very dissapointed with their visit. John especially of course, but Paul as well. Somehow they thought he was a much "holier" man/being than he actually was.
