I've added a new program, Badfinger Hour premiering tonight at 8pm EST and will be on every Wednesday at 8pm

I will probably add it on another time as well yet to be determined.

That is the good thing about the Beatles. There are so much to discover. Badfinger were band signed on Apple, but I leave it to you to dig deeper into the story and music!!

You've gotta be kidding ? If your not, see this forum here:
http://www.macca-central.com/macca-foru ... m.php?f=21

and look for Badfinger discussions.

a short hopefully accurate version. Basically they were one of the first, if not the first group signed by Apple, the Beatles label they created. One day while Paul was waiting for the other Beatles to show up, he got impatient and recorded a new song he just made up. Took him 20 minutes to lay down everything, this demo appears on Anthology and it's called COME AND GET IT. Badfinger was in the studio Paul gave the song to them, insisted he produce it and if they performed it just like the demo, they'd have a hit song, they did, he did produce it and it was a hit song. The song from the album Magic Christian was the soundtrack for the movie The Magic Christian where Ringo starred with Peter Sellers. John was said to have named the group, Badfinger. Later years George produced what was suppose to be a whole album but because of the Concert for Bangledesh it was just a few songs. George performed the slide guitar along with Pete Ham on BABY BLUE. George gave Pete his Gibson SG. He felt bad about leaving them dry so he invited Badfinger who became the backup band on the Concert for Bangledesh.

So now you can see why Badfinger is rated highly in my books as "Beatle Friends".

...and let's not forget they were the backup band on George's masterpiece "All Things Must Pass", providing the wall of guitars. Day After Day is my favourite Badfinger song - I've loved that song since I was very little.
