Not to mention most of the lyrics sound really cruel, but the musically, it's wonderful.

Can We Still Be Friends - Todd Rundgren. Musically it's such as sad song, but the title and lyrics alone give it a sense of hope.

Given his "can-do" attitude and generally positive outlook on life, it seems like the perfect break-up song for Macca:
