With Paul and Heather splitting, I find myself thinking about breaking-up songs. Personally, I've always gotten a kick out of the "we're splitting up and now I hate your guts" genre. My personal favorites are:
"Dead Flowers" -- Rolling Stones. For some reason FTD never adopted "Say it with dead flowers" as a slogan. Pity.
"Yes I Guess They Ought to Name a Drink After You" -- John Prine. After he sings the title phrase, he grumbles, "Bloody Mary!" How can you not love that?

I've always liked "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" by Dylan. Come to think of it, I actually think Dylan has written the greatest break-up songs - "Tanged Up in Blue," "Brownsville Girl," "It Ain't Me, Babe," the list goes on and on. "Idiot Wind" (All of Blood on the Tracks for that matter.)

I allways thought it would be great to pop on REMs "Shiny Happy People" when braking up with somebody. Or Shaffer The Darklords "Attack of the Clonef**kers". Y'know, something with a nice happy bouncy feel to it? Just so it doesn't sting as much.
In reality if I ever manage to dump someone for a change I'ld probably go all out with a sing along to 'Kiss Off' by Violent Femmes.
