Lost Weekend

"Walls And Bridges" is one of my fave Lennon album though I consider "Plastic Ono Band" a masterpiece... but as POB, WAB is like a John's "self-portrait" when he and Yoko were apart, in his called "Lost Weekend.

Peace.

Yeah, the "Lost Weekend" was certainly a tumultuous time in John's life, but no doubt he continued to churn out GREAT music.

I liked his partnership in that album with Elton John that made a bighit "Whatever Gets You Thru'The Night", Elton on piano is awesome in this song, as well as I think "Surprise Surprise" he did a good harmony vocal.

Peace.

I really like HALF of Double Fantasy. LOL.

POB, Imagine and W & B are my faves as well. Mind Games has some moments---Sometime in NYC is not really my cup o tea. Rock and Roll is good, but I think Macca does it better on RDR. I have the Lennon Anthology---well worth it.

Well, as for John's albums . . .

Plastic Ono Band - masterpiece.
Imagine - unbeatable, the best album with John's name on it.
Sometime In New York City - can't say, as I don't have it.
Mind Games - took a while to grow on me, but I like it now.
Walls & Bridges - been a while. Must have another listen. But "Nobody Loves You . . ." is fantastic!
Double Fanasy/Milk & Honey - scrap Yoko's songs, put all of John's together, and you have a brilliant album!

I hear a lot of talk about Plastic Ono Band being a masterpiece. I don't know if I agree. It is a GREAT album, with GREAT songs. But it takes a lot for me to call an album a masterpiece. And I really don't think it reaches that level. Imagine on the other hand....MASTERPIECE in my opinion. A lot of people say it's "over-produced", kinda like Tug of War. And? So? That makes it bad?

I personally love Sometime in NYC. Songs like John Sinclair and The Luck of the Irish are great to me.
