Underrated albums.

Are there any albums you like that you feel are given too many negative reviews or something similar to that? I know a few. Some I know off the top of my head are:

Good call on Lap Of Luxury! Great record! Let Go is one of my all time favorite tunes! Wilbury's Volume III is pretty damn fantastic too!

I read an AMG review saying that "Now And Zen" was Plant's best solo record.

Myslef i would say Peter Gabriel's US album alot of reviews say that it is too dark for him, but I thought it was PG at his best....

I agree, Us is a very underrated album. At the time he said he was heavily influenced by John Lennon's songs such as "Jealous Guy," etc. It really shows on that record. He's laying himself out there pretty bare. I think it speaks volumes.

Be Here Now is always slated, but it's the only Oasis album I ever go back to, principally because it encapsulates the over-confidence of the period so well.

Agree with whoever mentioned New Adventures In Hi-Fi, my favourite REM record.

The RHCP album with Dave Navarro, One Hot Minute is also underrated. I find it interesting to listen to how the addition of Navarro changed the whole dynamic of the band.

The Strokes second album, Room On Fire was unfairly slated IMO, some really good stuff going on there, and far superior to their new record.

I should add "Roadhouse" by John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band. I ended up copying more tracks from this album than "Tough All Over" to my iTunes library. Like 8 of the 12 songs on it. I don't think "Dance Into The Light" by Phil Collins hasn't gotten many positive reviews either.

One I would include is Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'arby as well as The Raw and the Cooked by Fine Young Cannibals. Great late '80s retro music done in an incredible way. FYC went on to produce another overlooked album, Your Heart's In Good Hands by Al Green.
