Who lives in LA? Proposition ahead>>

Postby blackbirdla » Thu Aug 29, 2002 6:49 pm

I'm in a rather succesful LA band called RYAN5 (http://www.ryan5.com) , but I still can't shake thsi idea that I've had since high school:
A band of fabulous musicians and friends doing different arrangements of off the wall solo Beatle tunes.
Right now, I have a VERY busy schedule, but I'm willing this to happen. At the moment, the band is made up of myself on bass, guitar, piano/organ, slide guitar, drums and vocals-another friend on vocals, bass and guitar -and one other person on drums and percussion.
So.....who lives in my area? Who's interested?
Heres' a list of songs that are already "done":

OK....now we're getting somewhere. You don't live THAT far away.Maybe we can get together for a beer and a chat. This thing is FOR REAL...and I think this forum may end up being a musical goldmine.
Meanwhile, thanks for the quick reply. Now....who's hiding out there? Don't be shy.

I like your assertive and possitive attitude. Let's see how many recuits you can stir up and maybe I'll get more excited about checking this thing out.

By the way, I might be a little older than some of the people you're used to jammin' with. I'm 38....but a immature 38...lol

Precisely. I sometimes think I must be the most mature person on here - and I'm only 20 [;)]

Yeah, Liam. You're the most mature person on this forum.

"This is post number 1983...."

"This will make post 1984...."

"I am 400 within the Ramster...."

"This next post will be my 60th consecutive post..."

"This is post 1987...."

LOL.

I"M SERIOUR ABOUT THIS IDEA!!I'm 27 years old, and so far, whenever I've set out to do something....I do it.

Oh, and I don't care how old, fat or unattractive anyone is. I'm talking about MUSIC here, not an NSYNC revival. I don't expect people my age to invest their musical lives into a venture like this. That is why I have RYAN5 and the other bands I play with......the Solo Beatles thing is just for kicks and good times. So....bring it on everyone!!!
Oh, a few quick questions:
1. Who can think of a name for this thing? I've been calling it "RAM ON", but maybe that is too Paul-specific.
2. Does anyone know of any John or George sites like this one where I can find some more recruits, or could someone help me spread the word? I want to get this going SOON because RYAN5 will be touring soon, and I want to know this is set in stone before I leave.
3. If anyone lives in Southern Cali, and wants to see if I can really play (or in I'm just full of hot air!) I invite you to see RYAN5 at The Mint (http://www.theminthollywood.com) this thursday, Sept 5th with my friends Sheila Nicholls (http://www.sheilanicholls.com) and the second coming of CSNY, Pawn Shop Kings (http://www.pawnshopkings.com). I'm also sitting in with STEVE GORMAN and AUDLEY FREED of THE BLACK CROWES tonight at The Malibu Inn in Malibu.
If anyone is interested in seeing any of the above, fooling around with the solo beatle project, or just has a question, please e mail me at blackbirdla@yahoo.com or go to http://www.ryan5.com. My bio and picture are on the BIOS page of RYAN5.com (the bad b & w photo holding the bass behind teh drums of House of Blues)

I went to http://www.ryan5.com . Very impressive! I have a few questions. Which person in the band are you?. How many people do you have in mind for this tribute band?. In other words, what positions have been filled?.
