Why is Bon Jovi so popular in the U.K.?

I'm really curious of this. I think it's kind of strange that Bon Jovi is hosting the first two concerts in the newly built Wembley Stadium. I know Bon Jovi is poplular over there, but for the life of me I don't know why. Granted, many of the acts popular in the U.S. right now are pretty embarassing. I've just never understood why Bon Jovi is so popular.

I just don't consider Bon Jovi in the same league as, say, the Rolling Stones, U2, or Macca. I don't know what makes their music so great. I just don't understand how they sell out 80,000 seat stadiums. I can sort of understand how they sell out arenas, but 80,000 seat stadiums??? I just don't get it. But to each his or her own I guess...

I really don't keep up to date with this jive. First I heard was this morning when they said that the stadium won't be complete untill about August so that concert is cancelled.

I read somewhere that's why the Rolling Stones didn't schedule their concerts until August or whatever - because they somehow knew the stadium wouldn't be ready and they figured they would be the first to play there anyway. That makes more sense to me. (The Rolling Stones opening the stadium as opposed to Bon Jovi)

I liked them when I was a teen in the 80's.
The new one IMO sucks, "Have a Nice Day"... bland stuff!
The Title track is nothing short of a rehashed U2 song "Beautiful Day" and not nearly as good...The U.K. can have 'em!

On a possitive note......I still like the "New Jersey" album and Sambora can really play!

I read on the BBC website, that they were to open the New Wembley, because they were the last to play the OLD Wembley. Now since the stadium is behind, that isn't going to happen. I'll bet it's the welders fault.
