Do your part to SPREAD THE WORD: The Voice of The Beatles

I'm asking all of you to do whatever you can to spread the word about MACCAradio. Whether your a member of a mail-list, Yahoo or Google Group, NewsGroup, chat anywhere or post in other message boards. Spread the word about MACCAradio, The Voice of The Beatles and it's format of Beatles, Solo & Friends and it's unique request feature. Here are some ways you can help to spread the word.

Talk Up MACCA Radio in Forums, Blogs, Chatrooms, etc.

When you run across an appropriate place to mention MACCA Radio - such as music forums like those on the official McCartney Messageboard, Yahoo, CraigsList.org, SlashDot discussions that are about music or radio, websites for artists that are played on MACCA Radio, or other appropriate locations - don't be shy about letting people know about MACCA Radio. Be sure to include our web address in your post.

IMPORTANT: it isn't an accident that we used the word "appropriate" twice in the preceding paragraph. It's important not to spam forums, post on non-music-related sites or site areas, or otherwise annoy people in MACCA Radio's name. That'll only reflect poorly on us.


Post or Pass Out Flyers & Cards

We can't afford to mail out copies of flyers and promo cards, but we'd be happy to provide the artwork for you to print your own. We have artwork for 8.5" x 11" flyers and 3.5" x 2" cards (standard business card size). You can print out a few flyers to stick up at your local indy music store or coffee house, or you can have Kinko's print you up a couple of thousand and hit the cars in the parking lot at a local club venue, rave, or concert.

We do request that you always ask permission before posting flyers anywhere. We don't want you to get into trouble (or get us into trouble...).

We should have the files available for download here soon. In the meantime, if you're interested you can email info@maccaradio.com & we'll send them to you.


Put a MACCA Radio Plug in your Email Signature

Almost every email program lets you add a "signature" to the bottom of all of your outgoing emails. Some of our community members have added a brief mention of MACCA Radio along with our web address to their signature. Below are some examples of simple sigs that can be used, but please feel free to be creative as well:

All you need to do is choose which size banner you'd like, copy the html code, and paste it onto your site.

Use a MACCA Radio Sig on your favorite Forum/Bulletin Board.

You can copy the below text [bb code] to use a MACCA Radio sig on forums you frequent. Using sig promotional items is by far one of the greatest ways to promote MACCA Radio. This sig should work on most forums, such as phpBB & vBulletin boards with no problems.

Always. I post on a lot of political blogs (how'd ya guess) and sometime we quote appropriate lyrics back and forth-- I of course will come out with the Paul lyric-- and if I can work it in I always work in a plug for Maccaradio.

I was wondering- my other major source of Beatle news is the abbeyrd page-- do you communicate with them or the Beatlebits guy (Terry Ott- isn't he from Canada as well)?

somthing I'm sure his friends do too...I know he visited and he said he thought it was cool...especially after I told him about the request feature...I hope he gets into it...and turns his friends on.

When I first started up MACCAcentral.com site I got emails from 2 major Beatle sites complaining that I'm going to ruin it for them and get everyone in trouble. Whatever that meant was suppose to mean. I was also banned, yes actually banned from a popular Paul McCartney list because I dared to start a website of my own and then get contacts within Paul's inner circle. I continued onwards without being awknowledged by two of the biggest Beatles sites and wrote it off as jealousy and political rubberish amongst fan sites. I did exchange some emails a few years ago again with the webmaster of the site you mentioned and without diclosing all the contents of the email he briefly condemed this site as being nothing but full of "fluff".

For what brief times I read Ott's thingy, that in combinatino of what I've been told by others, he is one of those anti-McCartney John lovers and commonly calls anyone like myself a Macca Madhatter. My comeback is simply I believe in The Beatles, not just The Beatles according to St. John. He cuts up Paul at every opportunity and thinks it's funny to make fun of Heather's lack of two legs. Hey, if that's what it takes to get attention, I don't work that way.

"Heather Mills McCartney had not a leg to stand on regarding her various causes and public outbursts and pontifications" for example. He is out of Canada not far from Toronto if I remember correctly but the week MACCA is in Toronto he makes no mention of the concert but talks of yet another John CD release from Yoko. Paul at his age, one of only two Beatles left alive and he ignores him. Instead writing a blog to all MACCA MADHATTERS, "In my opinion, if McCartney was smart, he would continue to make his mediocre solo albums, conduct his yearly excellent tours,keep workin' on his second billion, and practice what our mothers all taught us as kids: if you can't say something good about someone-especially a Beatle connected someone-don't say anything at all."

Sounds like he should take his own advice at get over it, Paul is still producing new material and to simply brush anything he does as mediocre is shameful propaganda from the followers of St. John.

I don't believe you have to be negative or be constantly critical to gain attention. This site achieve millions of monthly hits from simply providing information and news stories, NOT rumors or bullshit. I appreciate the talent of Paul, John, George and Ringo as a group they were and as individuals but I would never criticize again and again one or the other just to gain popularity. In other words to constantly cut up John to gain popularity amongst the people who love Paul. I guess he feels otherwise. Frankly I have kept the mentioning and linking of that blog off this site. He's the kind of person, critic that thrives off us so-called Macca Madhatters with his blinders on, he continues to preach The Beatles according to St. John.

So in conclusion, it would be nice to have the co-operation of a popular Beatle site to mention MACCAradio and MACCAcentral, don't hold your breath. The dislike of the Paul fans they label as Macca Madhatters that frequent here, are of no significance to them.

I can't stand Terry Ott's BeatleBits-- glad to hear youre not in that circle either (though I suspected the rift).

What disappoints me is that Abbeyrd is actually a decent site for Beatle news- and they hook up with Ott and promote his stuff on their front page-- yet, as you said, he makes rude jokes, writes way off-topic (I too was interested to hear if he attended the concert in Toronto) and generally his focus is on the divisions in Beatle fandom, not what unites us.

What I always want to say to him is: remember, Paul was good enough for John to take him as his partner for 12 years. John obviously saw something in Paul that he needed.

What in the world are they talking about "getting us in trouble"...??? Last I looked its not illegal to broadcast your own internet radio station!

I can tell ya this: no one would listen to a radio station that was 24hrs of what Ott and his co-horts would program.

Mike, you run a great forum and radio station that gives all who use it a lot of pleasure.

I particularly enjoy the fact that we are Beatle fans first and foremost, and that no Beatle is slagged off. It really is a very friendly and fair site that has taken up a lot of my time these past six months or so!

The best part is that we do play/request/acknowledge the other 3 -- and Beatle "friends".

When I get annoyed that Starting Over or All Those Years Ago are in the Top 10 most requested list-- its not that I diss John or George- I would have the same opinion if My Love (great song) or Live and Let Die (ditto) were in our Top 10 requests-- lets request "Move Over Ms L" or "Horse To the Water"-- not this same ol' stuff(!)

This is a great site- really, the model of what a fan site should be. (I'd listen to Dylan-Radio if sucha a thing existed and was run as well as this site).
