Best guitarsolo you have heard??

I love Dingle's suggestions. Probably for me, the most gut melting, face dripping solo is Jimi Hendrix doing "Come On Part I" off Electric Ladyland.

And Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) is in a class by itself

Sort of.

It reminds me of one of David Letterman's Top 10 Lists about the Rolling Stones Vodoo Lounge tour way back in 1994, lol. He had the Top 10 Rejected names for the tour. One of them was "The Rolling Stones Live Plus Keith Richards." :lol:

Kurt Cobain's In Bloom. Completely atonal, yet makes perfect melodic sense to me. Beats any 'technical' solo anyday in my book.

That reminds me, I should put Neil Young in there somewhere. Great guitar solos throughout his career. The one on "Cowgirl in the Sand" on his Roadrock DVD recorded at Red Rocks in incredible.

Since I tend to lean toward the blues, nearly any solo by Stevie Ray Vaughan I consider perfect.

Neil Young = brilliant. One of the coolest guitar solos of all time is just one note, ringing out. Cinnamon Girl. Who would have thought you could construct a mindblowing guitar solo out of 1 note, but Neil did!

speaking of stuff with a touch of the blues to it...gary moores' live version of 'still got the blues', warren haynes (gov't mule) on the live version of 'beautifully broken' and...er...prince... with 'purple rain' are mighty fine ...and slash from GnR and the edge both should get some mention...i don't know...'sweet child of mine' and 'bad', maybe...

Prince is an incredible guitar player. "Let's Go Crazy," "Purple Rain," etc. - the man is just amazing. He can do it all...
