Guess you're correct.
Those 60's tunes can fit nicely into a whole lotta movies !

That obscure johnny Depp film "Dead Man" Neil Young does the entire score.

"Dazed and confused" Great!
"Almost Famous" is a good one too!

oh and the new Cameron Crowe film "Elizabethtown" has a superb soundtrack.

I think there's a Sean Penn movie from a few years ago (he plays the main character) with lots of Beatle songs in the soundtrack. I can't recall its title or the subject matter, I'd love to listen to its soundtrack, though.

You might be thinking of I Am Sam. There are alot of Beatle tunes in that film but not the Beatles singing them. I love the movie though, Dakota Fanning is in it as well.

Thank you for the info !
Yes, this is the movie I mentioned.
And Dakota Fanning is everywhere these days - she's already an excellent actress !

Do you mean the movie with Diane Lane in it ? She's great in all senses  and I don't think she's ever been in a bad flick !

Most of his soundtracks are great. I love the soundtrack to Vanilla Sky (Not just because of Macca, either!)

I heard that film wasn't that great, but I did see a few interesting choices for the soundtrack - I think Lindsey Buckingham had a new track on it.
And in the end...

Yes M T M! The Lindsey Buckingham tune is great!...Mind blowing acoustic guitar playing from Lindsey...Tom Petty has the winner of the compilation though..."Square One" is one of the nicest Petty songs in recent years for sure.

Well, I might have to break down and get it eventually. Lindsey Buckingham rarely disappoints. Also I liked Petty's song "Walls" from the soundtrack to "She's the One," and it sounds like this one is a winner as well. Thanks for the tip!
And in the end...
