I don't know if I'm a big fan of either, but at least I can name a couple of Julian's songs. Not sure I can name one Sean song. Tell me...am I missing out on something?
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

I, too, prefer Julian, but I must admit I liked Sean's debut album Into the Sun. There were a lot of Beach Boy influences on there. Sean always talks positively about how Macca brought the Beach Boy influence into the Beatles. Sean's own records are much more experimental than Julian's. (Influenced by Beck, REM, and a few other alternative artists) He does have a great sense of melody IMHO. (Thanks to the Beach Boy influence)
I prefer Julian's voice to Sean's, plus Julian writes great songs as well. Comparing the two, although inevitable, is kind of unfair because they really belong in two different genres. I think it's alright to like them both.
And in the end...

"Day after Day" is really catchy - I heard it on MaccaRadio a couple of times and couldn't get it out of my system for days. Was that released as a single (pls excuse my ignorance)?
It's the start of a journey
To a much better place
And this wasn't bad
So a much better place
Would have to be special...
